We are very interested in encouraging individuals and also schools to start growing their own vegetables to provide nutritional value to people’s diets and a small income. Our horticultural expert, who is a specialist in extreme arid conditions has also been working with us to try to encourage composting and the benefit of growing, as well as edible vegetables, certain plants and shrubs to act as natural windbreaks and resist soil erosion. This scheme is creating more and more interest, in one example, from the local women in Loiyangalani as results prove successful. With the help of your donation we can provide seeds and training for communities to be able to start their own growing initiatives. |
