Internationally renowned author John le Carré attended the universities of Berne and Oxford, before teaching at Eton and then spending five years in the British Foreign Service. He started writing novels in 1961, and since then has published nineteen titles. The Spy Who Came In from the Cold, his third book, secured him a worldwide reputation.
